What about a consultation?
As long as the client doesn’t have any contraindications she is approved for the treatment. The first 30 minutes of the appointment is designated to discuss client goals, go over the process, and answer any questions.
How long does it last?
Brows last 1.5-4+ years depending on skin type (dry, normal, oily), lifestyle, overall exposure to sun, etc. Drier skin tends to last longer while more oily skins tend to fade faster. Skin thickness, pore size, client habits/lifestyle (like sun exposure, skincare products) are also factors determining longevity.
Does it hurt?
Two numbing options are available. A “pre-numb” before the appointment and an “open skin” anesthetic during the appointment. Most clients utilize open skin numbing only. Clients experience minimal discomfort during procedure.
How is shape and color determined?
The golden ratio mapping technique, popularized by the Phi Brow Academy of Europe is used, with the help of the artist’s trained eye, will determine what shape is best on a client’s face. Calipers are used to create the most harmonious shape in relation to the facial features. Soft arches, conservative tails, minimal fronts, natural is key. Client will give the green light for pigment application after approving of shape. Matching the pigment to the client’s real brow hair is ideal. Sometimes a darker or lighter pigment can be used.
How long is the appointment?
First time clients take about 2.5 hours. The follow up touch up appointment is about an hour. Refresher appointments for reoccurring clients are about 1.5 hours.
What does aftercare entail?
Expect 10 days of aftercare for proper healing. Keep brow area away from sun, sweat/exercise, and makeup. Cleanse and apply ointment on brows every hour first day until bedtime and 2-3x daily for the next 9 days. Clients receive a healing kit with aftercare instructions, and aftercare is explained in depth at appointment.
How will your brows look years later?
The highest quality European made pigments and tools are used. Pigments fade softly over time and clients don’t have to worry about pigment migration, unnatural looking hues, or color distortion.
Pre Care? Is there anything I need to prepare before my appointment?
Avoid Botox, fillers, facials or treatments requiring healing and down time at least 2 weeks before your appointment. Avoid Vitamin A, Retinols/Retin-A near or on the brow area and forehead 2 weeks before appointment. Prepare to refrain from using them for 1 month after, as these products can affect pigment quality and retention. Skin must be free from sun burn or irritated by the sun. Brow makeup is recommend to be worn if the client desires to show artist her goals for treatment (brows will be cleaned and prepped before treatment by artist).
